CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF EURODESIGN CABINETRY

General Information:

Your Eurodesign cabinetry requires minimum care and only occasional maintenance. Like any fine furniture wood product, your cabinetry will “mellow” with age and shifts in color of the wood and finishes are to be expected. By following the guidelines below, your Eurodesign cabinetry will serve you well and add beauty and character to your
home.

Preventative Care:

Finishes and coatings for your Eurodesign cabinetry have been developed using advanced formulas, carefully selected materials and state-of-the-art technologies to provide protection, durability and beauty.

The natural beauty of the finished surfaces will be preserved by occasionally wiping over the finished surfaces with a damp (not wet) soft cloth followed by a dry lint-free soft cloth. This gentle process will remove most household stains. Abrasive cleansers, scrubbing solutions and scouring pads will scratch and damage the finished surfaces and should not be used. For stubborn stains, a mild solution of liquid soap can be wiped or sprayed on and gently rubbed with a damp cloth followed by wiping with a clean damp (not wet) cloth and thoroughly drying with a lint-free cloth.

Paste waxes, household polishes and solvent-based cleaners should be avoided on all cabinetry finishes as they will eventually leave a residue, may damage the original finishes and will alter the original luster and sheen of the cabinetry.

All spills, of any type, should be immediately wiped dry with a lint-free cloth. Damp towels or other moisture carrying items should never be draped over finished cabinetry to dry.

Repair of Wood Finishes:

Should the surface of the cabinetry be damaged, it is important that restoration of the finish be made as soon as possible to prevent further deterioration. Eurodesign recommends that repairs be made by a qualified technician.

If the surface coating has worn thin or has been slightly damaged by scuffs or abrasions, it is only necessary to lightly scuff sand the area with fine sandpaper and apply a thin coat of touch-up lacquer. Touch-up lacquers are available at various luster and sheen levels and should be tested for appropriate blending prior to application to the damaged area.

Where actual color has been removed from the cabinetry, a touch-up stain will need to be applied prior to the touchup lacquer. Eurodesign highly recommends that the touch-up stain be tested for a pleasing aesthetic match prior to application to the damaged area.

Adding or Modifying Cabinetry and/or Accessories:

Should you desire to add additional cabinetry to your home or to modify the layout of your cabinetry, Eurodesign would be pleased to assist you in the process. However, you should refer to your Eurodesign Warranty regarding the impact any change in layout or design may have on your warranty coverage. Proper installation is a critical aspect of quality cabinetry; improper installation can result in extensive damage to property and serious personal injury.
